Meet Lara Duffin

Lara Duffin, aka Viva Wonder Woman, is an Executive Support Specialist and co-founder of Comicare.  She is a legend in the world of cosplay charity and her involvement with Comicare brought immediate credibility.  From early on Lara had a connection with Wonder Woman.  Her childhood was spent running around in her Underoos acting like her hero, Lynda Carter.  She even cut her teeth designing Halloween costumes for herself.  Later in life she put her costuming skills to work designing a quality Wonder Woman costume that would be suitable for charity work.  She began visiting Hospitals, assisted living centers and literacy events.

“I feel charity work is an important part of life”, explains Lara.   I believe that when we let ourselves get lost in service to others, we truly find ourselves.  It opens up my life to positivity and in that way, I am the recipient of the sweetest charity.  Charity and cosplay go together.  I feel that if you are going to dress like a superhero- the least you can do is try to act like one.”

‘Viva’ has blossomed into an extremely busy superhero.  Her charity group “Heartfelt Heroes” is very active in the Las Vegas area.  They conduct many activities including her “Capes for a Cause” event, where they send off superhero packages to kids that include homemade capes.  She also makes her own costumes and helps dress superheroes all over the world. She has designed over SIXTY costumes- including twenty-three variations of the Wonder Woman suit!  Any chance she gets, Viva is sure to swing by a Comicare event- so keep an eye out!

Lara currently resides in Las Vegas with her husband and two children.  When she isn’t “Wonder Woman’ing” it up, she spends her time designing and creating costumes or relaxing with her family.
